Apple iPhone 12 Pro: New information on 120 Hz displays, cameras & Co.

The new video reveals additional inside information about the new Apple iPhone 12 family. First of all, the focus of the leaks is on professional smartphones, as well as their 120Hz displays and improved cameras. Additional themes are design, Face ID (Notch), and iOS features.

Rumors of Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max specs expected in the fall are growing. Currently, apparently well-informed YouTuber John Prosser is showing in his recently published video a prototype of a flagship smartphone, which, according to his own information, should come from the so-called PVT collection (Production Validation Test). These are products that rolled off the assembly line shortly before the transition to mass production. Prosser can go into great detail about the new features of the top models, although confirmation from Apple, as usual, has yet to be received.

Apple is working hard on its OLED ProMotion displays

If you trust your sources, the iPhone 12 Pro Max will have a 120Hz (OLED) display and a slightly narrower bezel. The iOS software shown in the video already shows the activation of the ProMotion option and the possible automatic switching between 120 and 60 Hz. According to Prosser, the size of the notch that houses the true depth cameras on the front should be maintained and only appear more compact. The reason for this is the large displays, which in the “Pro Max” version grow to 6.7 inches. The side edges of the iPhone 12 are still referred to as flat and angular. For the front and rear glazing, a slight curvature is assumed.

The main camera module, which is said to have grown by 10 percent, could use a LiDAR sensor similar to that used in the current iPad Pro this year. In particular, autofocus and AR apps can benefit from this. Rumors also point to improved night mode and 4K slow motion video up to 240fps. In addition, the Face ID camera should have improved wide-angle face sensors, which should be able to unlock even if the Apple iPhone 12 Pro is flat on the table. Mass production of iOS 14 smartphones should begin soon. The launch is expected in October.
