Apple iPad Air 4: Instructions should confirm design, USB-C & Touch ID

The rumors about a new Apple iPad Air 4 intensify after an official-looking manual provides details on the design, the new Touch ID integration, and the USB-C port. Experts assume that the tablet will be available this year.

Just this week, various entries in the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) database pointed to new iPad models that the American manufacturer Apple is due to present soon. The first documents to be included with the upcoming iPadOS 14 tablet now show that it could be the iPad Air 4, which has been hotly debated in recent months. A leaked Spanish manual provides insight into the design, connections, and functionality of the new fingerprint sensor.

The new iPad Air is getting closer to the Pro model

If you trust the image material, the new Apple iPad Air 4 will take on the look of the Pro series and use narrower screen bezels. There is also talk of a USB-C interface that will replace the old Lightning port. The coveted Smart Connector for connecting keyboard covers (Magic Keyboard) will also be used on the back. Despite a design similar to the iPad Pro, the iPad Air could dispense with the Face ID (facial recognition) camera and use Touch ID (fingerprint recognition) instead. However, a suitable sensor is not intended under the display, but in the power switch (power button).

Many experts argue about the availability of the iPad Air 4. Most analysts predict a release date this year. According to the latest insider information, the official launch is scheduled for September 7th. However, it is questionable whether Apple will release its own keynote address to showcase the new iPad and Apple Watch Series 6, or whether the devices will initially be unveiled only through press releases and store updates. The manufacturer’s next live stream is not expected until the end of September or October due to a possible delay in the iPhone 12 launch.

Full-screen design + power button integrated TouchID

After Apple just registered 8 Apple Watches and 7 iPads on file with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). A set of manuals has been posted online for the new iPad Air, which is suspected of having a full-screen design.

Based on this set of images, the manual that needs to be verified is in Spanish. The diagram in the picture shows that the new iPad Air will have a full-screen design similar to the iPad Pro. But it will not feature a FaceID module, but will use the TouchID recognition method integrated with the top power button, coincides with previous rumors that Apple is developing a device equipped with “side fingerprint recognition”.

Ming-Chi previously announced that Apple will release the “iPhone SE Plus” with side fingerprint recognition next year.

In addition, the guide also shows that the back cover of the new iPad Air will have metal contacts for pairing with other keyboard accessories. And it also supports the same Apple Pencil pairing function as the iPad Pro. Perhaps there are some differences between the two in terms of accessories.

Of course, the screenshots above cannot confirm the authenticity, but perhaps we will soon introduce a new iPad. According to John Prosser, who has repeatedly violated the Apple product release date. The new Apple Watch and the new iPad will be released as a press release on September 8.
