IOS 13.4 update problems: video calls do not work

Share

According to foreign media reports, some iPhone users who upgraded the official version of iOS 13.4 found that they could not use video-related applications, and the most obvious one was FaceTime.

The report shows that the iOS 13.4 update for iPhone and iPad caused issues with FaceTime audio and video calls. The connection between these newly updated devices and devices that are still running iOS 9.3.5 or iOS 9.3.6 does not seem to work. iOS 9.3.5 or iOS 9.3.6 is the latest software available on some older devices.

According to user feedback, if a device running iOS 13.4 wants to initiate a FaceTime call (voice or video), the image quality may not be displayed correctly. IOS versions 9.3.5 and 9.3.6 are applicable to iPods. The most susceptible devices are touch (5th generation), iPad mini (1st generation), iPhone 4S, iPad (3rd generation) and iPad 2.

Devices running iOS 13.3.1 or macOS 10.15.3 may still use older devices to make FaceTime calls, so it’s unclear if this is a bug that only appeared in iOS 13.4.

In addition, this issue also seems to affect the latest version of macOS-macOS 10.15.4, which now cannot connect to devices running on older devices running iOS 9.3.6 or iOS 9.3.5 using voice and video.

Currently, Apple does not immediately respond to the above problems, but only indicates that they have received feedback from users.

IOS 14 details: Apple improves password management

When it comes to entering passwords, I believe that many users experience headaches. Indeed, this will soon require manufacturers to improve the user experience.

According to foreign media reports, Apple will re-enter passwords in the future iOS 14 system to simplify user input or reduce multiple password re-entry.

In addition, the latest report also mentions that Apple will improve the iCloud keychain password manager function on iOS by adding additional features such as two-step verification. On iOS and macOS platforms, the iCloud keychain function can store all sensitive information, such as passwords and credit cards. However, compared to 1Password, the Apple iCloud Keychain lacks many important features. All of this will change in iOS 14.

New features that Apple is testing include warning users about the reuse of passwords and preventing the use of the same password on multiple websites. Two-step verification means that after entering the password, there is another level of encryption.

It is reported that Apple is developing a new iOS home screen, in particular, a new page in iOS 14, allowing users to view their applications through a list. Currently, we can only view iOS apps through an icon that is a grid, or a search. The new list mode will display all application icons, names, and more.

In addition, the list mode also has various classification functions: for example, you can only view applications with unread messages, as well as view recently used applications. This new list style also supports Siri’s suggestions, automatically recommending apps that you can use based on time and place. For example, when you come to the gym, Siri offers you to open the Music app.
