Asus will unveil its Zenfone 7 next week. Which will likely consist of two models this year. One of them appeared prematurely with packaging and first hands-on photos on the Internet. One of the well-known leakers recently suspected that at least the base model might not have a Snapdragon 865, but a Snapdragon 765.
This is how Asus’ Zenfone 7 looks like. The images above and below show the familiar flip-down camera from its predecessor, but with an additional camera. The rear-facing fingerprint sensor has also disappeared. So we’re assuming the sensor is integrated on the side since at least the base version should hide the LCD and not the AMOLED.
While observers previously suggested that Snapdragon 865 or Snapdragon 865+ in all Zenfone 7 variants. Now the leak seems to have found a link to Snapdragon 765 or even Snapdragon 690 in linked configuration files whose codes are actually “lito”. as shown in the screenshot below. This does not bring much technical benefit at a starting price of 499 euros. This was initially rated as very cheap since in this case, Asus could save not only on the display but also on the chipset.
It would be pretty clear that the Zenfone 7 with model number ZS670KS will receive the Snapdragon 765, Zenfone 7 Pro, and then the Snapdragon 865. But this has yet to be confirmed. Several other specs of the Zenfone 7 series have recently been revealed. Such as a 64MP triple camera and a 6.4-inch display from Chinese manufacturer BOE. Asus will unveil the Zenfone 7 on August 26th as part of a virtual launch, a link to the live stream can be found here.
