Microsoft confirmed Windows 10 20H2 is ready for commercial testing

Microsoft Announces Next Milestone in Windows 10 20H2 Benchmarks. Microsoft has confirmed that the new Windows 10 20H2 is ready for commercial testing. ISO images and previews in beta or preview channels are not yet available but may be coming soon.

Microsoft announced that the 20H2 update for Windows 10 version 20H2 is now available to commercial users for a so-called pre-check. In this context, commercial users are referring to Pro versions that are managed through mobile device management (MDM) or other tools. Microsoft is inviting these enterprise customers to test Windows 10 20H2.

Thus, Microsoft has taken the next major step ahead of the release of the upcoming version of Windows 2009, also known as the 20H2 update. As reported by Windows manager Aria Carly on the Windows IT Pro Blog, the 20H2 test for commercial partners is now following. This means that corporate stakeholders can now test preview versions for Windows 10 version 2009.

The fine-tuning begins

Microsoft only takes this path when the basic work on the insider builds has been completed and a confirmed release date has already been considered.

It should now be clear that it won’t be long before the next Windows 10 version is freely available. In any case, the main work on the feature update has been completed and Microsoft is now taking more care of the fine-tuning.

For the time being, the tests can only be started using the Windows Update function, whereby the testers in the Insider Program must be in the beta or release preview channel, according to the blog post. There are currently no previews available there, but they should be submitted soon. Microsoft has not yet published any new ISOs for commercial users either.

Windows 10 Insider Build starts new Disk Management

After recently reporting a problem with the internal Windows 10 version, Microsoft has now released an update in the Windows Insider program. One of the new features is the disk management in the settings.

Since it was said earlier in the week that a so-called halting bug was discovered that made it impossible to release a new build, Windows Insiders should perhaps be a little more careful now. The new build has a version number 20197 and is available to all users who have selected the Dev Channel. In this release, Microsoft has released a new Disk Management in Settings for All Insiders in the Developer Channel. Some have already seen the changes. More and more features are being carried over to the settings app, including managing hard drives and partitions.

All testers can now try out the new media management. In the settings, you can find all the important points under “Settings”> “System”> “Storage”, there click “Disk and volumes”. Now, here are tasks such as viewing disk information, creating and formatting volumes, and assigning drive letters. This change is not the only new version.

“Your Phone” for insiders

The new “Your Phone” application is now also widely available. This concerns the functions that Microsoft presented in cooperation with Samsung at the beginning of August.
