Share

Huawei officially unveiled EMUI 11 today at Huawei Developer Conference 2020. Huawei’s new voice assistant Celia for Europe has also been announced.

Today, Huawei demonstrated a new version of its custom ROM EMUI at the 2020 Huawei Developer Conference. EMUI 11 follows EMUI 10 and is still based on Android 10, that is, it is not based on Android 11 that was launched this week. Nevertheless, EMUI 11 has brought some improvements and new features to Huawei smartphones, most of which are known in advance. Usually, the focus is on improving usability and connectivity.

The floating window is the most exciting innovation, you can display applications for multitasking in the floating window. Due to version 3.0 with multi-screen capabilities, up to three applications can be displayed on a Windows device. The always-on display has received various innovations. In addition to the new version of Mondiran, there are other possibilities and options, such as B. Create your own picture or GIF for the standby screen. MeeTime is also a new feature of video conferencing and telephone.

The gallery has been visually revised. Now it has more magazine-style. Various animations of the operating system have also been fine-tuned. They run softer now. Now, the vibration should match the ringtone. In addition, the note-taking application also has new features. Now, it can also scan and copy the text in scanned documents. In addition, other small improvements and innovations should be made to ensure a smoother and better user experience overall.

P40 series benefits first

Huawei will be the first batch of devices to provide the final version of EMUI 11 for the P40 series of smartphones in time. Since then, although there is no exact timetable, many other Huawei devices will be gradually introduced. It is expected that the new Mate 40 series launched in October may be equipped with EMUI 11.  The P40 series list include Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro, Huawei P40 Pro +, Huawei Mate 30 (4G), Huawei Mate 30 (5G), Huawei Mate 30 Pro (4G), Huawei Mate 30 Pro (5G), Huawei Mate 30 RS Porsche Design, Huawei MatePad Pro and Huawei MatePad Pro 5G

Of course, the list will be expanded in the future. In total, over 50 Huawei and Honor smartphones should receive EMUI 11.

Huawei Celia: voice assistant for Europe

As we all know, Huawei has nothing to do with Google services. Therefore, as an alternative to Google Assistant, the company announced the European new Celia voice assistant with EMUI 11.

With the help of “Hey Celia”, you can ask Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri, and Co for alternative methods, such as the weather. Celia is currently unable to keep up with Amazon, Apple, and Co.
