The Zen 3 architecture is about to debut. The original 14nm Zen and 12nm Zen+ architectures are still full of vitality!

For the booming entry-level Chromebook market, AMD has launched the Ryzen 3000C and Athlon 3000C series processors.

Both Zen and Ryzen are making their first appearance on Chromebooks. It claims to have increased performance by 178% over the previous generation.

Ryzen 7 3700C and Ryzen 5 3500C come from the Picasso family with a 12nm manufacturing process, Zen+, and Vega architecture combination. Both are 4 cores, 8 threads, 6MB cache.

Among them, the former has a main frequency of 2.3-4.0GHz and integrates Vega 10 GPU at 1.4GHz, and the latter has a main frequency of 2.1-3.7GHz and integrates Vega 8 1.2GHz.

Ryzen 3 3250C, Athlon Gold 3150C, Athlon Silver 3050C are all from the Dali family with a 14nm manufacturing process, Zen, Vega architecture combination. It has 2 cores with a 5MB cache.

Ryzen 3 3250C  has 2 core 4 threads with a CPU clocked at 2.6-3.5GHz and Vega 3 1.2GHz. The frequency of Athlon Gold 3150C is reduced to 2.4-3.3GHz, 1.1GHz, and others remain unchanged.

Athlon Silver 3050C is the only 2 core 2 threads. It does not support multi-threading technology. The CPU frequency is only 2.3-3.2GHz, GPU is shrunk to Vega 2 1.1GHz.

The above five processors have a thermal design power consumption of 15W.

AMD claims that compared to the earlier A6-9220C (2C2T/1.8-2.7GHz/R3 GPU 720MHz/6W) based on a combination of excavators and GCN architecture. The Ryzen 7 3700C has improved network performance by 153-178% and improved graphics performance by 251%. The office productivity performance increased by 104% and the picture editing performance increased by 152%.

Acer, Asus, HP, Lenovo will launch on Dacentrurus 3000C, the new Chromebook 3000C

Data shows that the compound annual growth rate of the Chromebook notebook market from 2019 to 2021 can reach 8.1%, and the overall market share will reach 21.1% in 2021.

AMD’s A-series processors had a 5.2% share last year, and it has rapidly increased to 21% in the second quarter of this year.
