iOS 14 could support the same iPhones as iOS 13

Share

The current mobile Apple operating system iOS 13 offers support for all iPhones that were released in 2015. According to a rumour, this will also be the case with the upcoming software update. This could also update the iPhone SE.

The rumour was published by the French website iPhonesoft. The update to iOS 14 should, therefore, be the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro (Max), iPhone XS (Max), iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8 (Plus), iPhone 7 (Plus), iPhone 6S (Plus), iPhone SE and support the seventh-generation iPod Touch. In addition, the new operating system will run on all models that will be released this year.

Minor bugs with the iPad 14

With iPad’s 14, however, some cuts can be expected. With the update, support for tablets with Apple A8 and A8X chips is to be dropped. The iPad Mini 4 and the iPad Air 2 are no longer supported.

In addition to the iPads that will be launched in 2020, iPad 14 is rumoured to be available for four iPad Pro models, the fifth to seventh-generation iPads, the iPad Mini 5 and the iPad Air 3. There is no official confirmation of this information yet. At the moment it is just a rumour.

It remains to be seen whether the rumour is actually true. Like 9to5macnoted, last year iPhonesoft claimed that iOS 13 will end support for iPhone SE. But that didn’t happen. Correct, however, was that both the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 6 should no longer get an update to iOS 13.
