According to the latest research results of Academician Li Lanjuan’s team, Abidol and Darunavir can effectively inhibit coronavirus.

According to @Wuhan news, on February 4, Li Lanjuan, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a member of the high-level expert group of the National Health and Medical Commission, announced the latest research results of pneumonia in the treatment of new coronavirus infection in Wuhan.

According to preliminary tests, in vitro cell experiments show that: (1) Abidol can effectively inhibit coronavirus up to 60 times compared with the drug-untreated control group at a concentration of 10-30 micromolar, and significantly inhibit the virus against Pathological effects of cells. (2) At a concentration of 300 micromolar, darunavir can significantly inhibit virus replication. Compared with the untreated group, the inhibition efficiency is 280 times.

He said that the anti-AIDS drug Kelizhi was not effective in treating pneumonia due to a new coronavirus infection and had toxic side effects.

He suggested that the above two drugs be included in the National Health Commission’s “Pneumonitis Diagnosis and Treatment Program for New Coronavirus Infection (Trial Version 6)”.

Chen Zuobing, member of Academician Li Lanjuan’s team and vice president of Zhejiang University First Hospital, reminded: “These two drugs are prescription drugs, and patients must take them under the guidance of a doctor.”

According to him, these two drugs have now been used in patients with pneumonitis infected by a new type of coronavirus in Zhejiang Province. The next step is to use these two drugs to replace other less effective drugs.
