Samsung Galaxy Note 20: Leak indicates new fingerprint sensor

Samsung Galaxy Note 20: Leak indicates new fingerprint sensor

Samsung, a South Korean electronics manufacturer, has been working on the latest Galaxy Note series models for some time now. Although an official launch date has not yet been announced, more detailed information on the new flagship devices has leaked.

According to GSMArena, the Galaxy Note 20 may be the first smartphone with Qualcomm’s Sonic Max 3D fingerprint scanner. Compared to a conventional sensor, this technology provides 17 times the detection area. The fingerprint of the user can be fixed on an area of 20 x 30 millimeters. A conventional scanner can only cover 4 x 9 millimeters. With a larger area, you can read two fingerprints at the same time.

Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, said Samsung should continue to place the selfie camera in the display opening. The energy-saving LTPO display will be used as the screen.

Plus version with a 6.87-inch display

Although the size of a regular Galaxy Note 20 should be about 6.42 inches, the Plus option panel with a diagonal of 6.87 inches can almost be considered a tablet display. Galaxy Note 20 should be equipped with a proud 16 gigabytes of memory.

Last month, a leak occurred in the Galaxy Note 20. Although a standard version with a 4000 mAh battery should appear, the Plus model can be released with a 4500 mAh or 5000 mAh battery. The display panel should have a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Snapdragon 865 + SoC and eUFS 3.1 memory should be used inside the Galaxy Note 20 (Plus). However, there is still no confirmation of this.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20: Leak indicates larger battery capacity

The battery of the future Samsung Galaxy Note 20 may have significantly greater capacity than Note 10. The smartphone should be able to keep up with the Galaxy S20. Despite the higher performance, the device should have a similar runtime.

This comes from a leak from the Dutch online magazine GalaxyClub. The Galaxy Note 20 battery must be assigned the model number EB-BN980ABY. However, there were no details about the Plus battery version. Note 20 Plus should be based on the S20 Plus or S20 Ultra and, therefore, have even more battery power. A size of 4,500 mAh or 5,000 mAh is considered likely.

Standard variant with 4000 mAh

The standard battery must have a nominal capacity of 3880 mAh. In the datasheet, this should correspond to a reading of 4000 mAh. The battery capacity of the upcoming Galaxy Notes 20 and the existing Galaxy S20 will be the same.

So far, there is little information about the Galaxy Note 20. According to previous rumors, the Plus model’s display can be more than seven inches in size, so the smartphone should already be a small tablet. It is said that the refresh rate of the panel is 120 Hz. It would be possible for Samsung to install Snapdragon 865 + SoC and eUFS 3.1 memory in the Galaxy Note 20 (Plus). In addition, the S Pen can also be upgraded and new features.

Galaxy Note 20 (Plus) is scheduled for launch in August 2020. Although the development of the device is still going according to plan, it is quite possible that the release may be delayed for several weeks or even months due to a major crisis.
