AMD may introduce the new Ryzen Threadripper processor very soon. In any case, this follows from the information that was published on the Chinese Chiphell forum. The chip is said to be the most powerful thread ripper model to date.

AMD chip maker offers the Ryzen Threadripper family on the market for absolutely high-quality PCs and PCs for workstations. The current top line of Threadripper 3990X costs a little less than 4000 euros and comes with 64 processing cores. As rumors now argue, this flagship may soon have an even more powerful sister model in the form of a Threadripper PRO 3995WX in front of its nose.

According to available information, the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3995WX will still offer 64 cores and can handle 128 threads in parallel, but will be connected with twice the number (eight instead of four) of memory channels. The expanded memory interface will not only give the new processor a significant plus in terms of RAM performance but also increase the maximum possible memory capacity from 256 gigabytes to 2 terabytes.

In addition to all this, the Videocardz website provides information that the suffix “PRO” of the new Threadripper CPU is most likely an extended feature set in the sense of Ryzen PRO processors. In the workstation segment, corporate customers will also benefit, for example, from additional security features and a longer warranty period. In addition, Threadripper PRO 3995WX should also have a different chipset and a new processor socket in the form of “sWRX8”. The latter is necessary simply because the sTRX4 slot of modern models of thread cultivators is not designed to support more than four memory channels.

With the Ryzen 3000XT series, AMD just released new desktop processors two days ago. According to the information received, Threadripper PRO 3995WX should celebrate its entry into the market exactly one week later, on July 14, 2020. Professionals who need the ultimate PC performance for their projects should keep an eye on this day.

AMD Threadripper PRO has 8-channel memory and capacity up to 2 TB. In comparison, the Threadripper consumer series are only 4-channel and support up to 256 GB.

We could finally see that the sWRX8 socket appears on the market, according to rumors, such a configuration appeared more than a year ago.
