Huawei MateBook X 2020: Leak shows a slimmed-down ultrabook, some specs leaked

This week Huawei will unveil the new MateBook from the MateBook X family – thin and light. In 2020, the MateBook X is going to be thinner again, seemingly by a millimeter. And Huawei appears to have significantly reduced the body, as the first images show in several colors.

On August 19, Huawei will unveil the new MateBook X in China. Which appears to have been significantly smaller compared to the MateBook X Pro 2020 (full on Amazon with a 1TB SSD for € 1,900). Some early leaks already pointed to somewhat obscure new features such as “Free Touch”. Which were expected to be pressure sensitive from the display or TrackPad. But have yet to be confirmed. The fix, however, is that Huawei has shrunk the MateBook X over the MateBook X Pro 2020 in at least two dimensions.

Some specs leaked

At 13.6mm thin, the new ultrabook from China appears to be a millimeter thinner than the MateBook X Pro, and the photos clearly show that the speakers next to the keyboard are now gone, and the chassis is flush with the keyboard. from what to a very thin chassis. The trackpad could also grow slightly and integrate an NFC chip for wireless connectivity with other Huawei devices.

In the leaked images above and below, we see a black and gray, silver, pink and green version of the MateBook X 2020. Which will start with 10th Gen Intel processors, specifically the Core i5-10210U or Core i7. The -10510U are both from the 14nm Comet Lake family, at least according to Leaker DigitalChatStation. Apparently there is 8 or 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM and a 42Wh battery. The August 19 launch will only take place in China. But in the medium term, we expect the new MateBook X to arrive in Europe as well.
