AirPods Pro includes technology that could benefit 5G iPhone batteries
Thanks to key integration technology pioneered by Apple in its AirPods Pro wireless headset. The future iPhone 5G models are likely to have larger batteries or smaller battery packs than existing mobile phones.
Today Foreign Media announced that Apple is aiming to integrate the system in a package (SiP) and flexible printed circuit boards (FPCB) in the upcoming iPhone 5G cell phone battery module to replace the existing rigid-flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) that it has relied on for years.
According to the source, Apple has included the SiP + FPCB solution in its new AirPods series and may apply this solution to the iPhone 5G battery module. This is partly because the SiP can integrate multiple functions and provide more components. More space. Now that Apple has successfully controlled costs, it is comparable to rigid-flexible PCB solutions in terms of cost.
As more functions are integrated into mobile phones, Apple will be able to develop new systems for larger batteries. These features will obviously drive up Apple’s value. So for the 2021 iPhone 12s product line, the company was looking to use cost-saving hybrid battery panels that could be smaller without affecting battery life or size. The same, but with more capacity. The SiP + FPCB combination is reportedly another potential solution Apple is looking for.
According to sources polled by DigiTimes, if Apple decides to integrate a similar SiP + FPCB solution for the new iPhone in 2021, current iPhone battery module suppliers could be hit significantly.
Apple launch the second-generation AirPods Pro next year
According to DigiTimes sources, at least part of the orders for the next-generation “AirPods Pro” will be assembled by Inventec Home Appliances in Vietnam. Currently, Luxshare and GoerTek, the manufacturers of AirPods Pro, will also receive part of the orders.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously stated that Apple is developing the second-generation “AirPods Pro”. Which will be put into mass production from the fourth quarter of 2021 to the first quarter of 2022, and that AirPods Pro will not be available in 2020 or early 2021. Will be updated.
Future AirPods may include multiple sensors that can be used for health monitoring functions. DigiTimes hinted that the new sensor could be built into AirPods within one to two years. The health monitoring function allows AirPods to monitor heart rate, steps, and health, as well as to detect head movement.
There are also rumors that Apple will launch the third-generation standard version of AirPods. Which is planned to be launched in the first half of 2021. Guo initially stated that the appearance of the third-generation “AirPods” will be similar to the current AirPods without any design changes. But later said that the new “AirPods” will adopt a shape design similar to AirPods Pro
