iPhone 12 Pro could be the first Apple smartphone with a Chinese screen
The supplier, in this case, will be BOE
If you believe yesterday’s rumours, soon we are waiting for the release of two relatively inexpensive smartphones Apple: iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus.
As for the fall, if initially we were told about three new products, now sources are writing about four. But today we are interested in two elders: iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
A source says that a smaller top-end model could be the first Apple device with a Chinese company BOE screen. Allegedly, the latter invested heavily in the development of its OLED display production lines in order to obtain a long-term contract with Apple.
In fact, this is not the first year that there are rumours about a possible collaboration between BOE and Apple, so new rumours should be treated accordingly. If even LG still could not become a major supplier of screens for the iPhone, then for BOE the situation was clearly even less profitable from the very beginning.
Exposure of 5.4-inch Apple iPhone 12 will use BOE OLED screen, the body size is smaller than the iPhone 9
According to a report from Taiwan Electronics Times DigiTimes, Chinese display maker BOE has partnered with touch panel maker General Interface Solutions as both companies aim to be Apple’s rumoured 5.4-inch iPhone 12 Screen supplier for mobile phones.
According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple plans to release four iPhone 12 models with OLED displays in the fall, including one 5.4-inch, two 6.1-inch and one 6.7-inch. All devices are expected to support 5G, and they may adopt new designs that include flat metal frames like the iPad Pro or iPhone 4.
According to the breaking news, the IT House learned that the new 5.4-inch iPhone 12 will become Apple’s smallest iPhone with a fringe display. In contrast, the iPhone 11 Pro has a 5.8-inch display and the iPhone 11 Pro Max has a 6.5-inch display.
The 5.4-inch iPhone 12 has bangs, an ultra-thin bezel, and no physical Home button, so its body size is smaller than the 4.7-inch iPhone 8. The rumoured iPhone 9 uses the same design as the iPhone 8 with a screen size of 4.7 inches and supports Touch ID and a physical Home button. The highest-end iPhone 12 Pro models are expected to be equipped with a rear three-lens system with a time-of-flight (ToF) sensor for 3D sensing, while mid-range models like the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 will be equipped with dual-lens arrays, which may lack 3D sensing sensors.
