EMUI 11 will be based on distributed technology
According to the president of Huawei’s software department, Dr. Wang Chenglu, the proprietary firmware EMUI 11 will be released in the third quarter of 2020.
The technical details of the new shell have not yet been disclosed. But Wang Chenglu confirmed that EMUI 11 will be based on distributed technology. Which will significantly improve overall shell performance and usability.
The new EMUI 11 distributed technology will include new smart features and ways to connect to applications. Distributed technology will allow users to make high-definition video calls between multiple devices. Users can also make audio and video calls anytime, anywhere. If there is an incoming call, the user will be able to answer it through the smart speaker. If this is a video call, you can receive it on the TV or even in the car through the multimedia system. You can also send real-time video from the drone so that family and friends can also enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Smartphone content can be shared by simple drag and drop gestures. Generally, the display, camera, microphone, and speaker of the device will be used more actively in more situations.
EMUI 11 Shell will be based on Android11. The company will not release HarmonyOS for smartphones this year.
EMUI 11: Huawei’s Distributed Technology
The Huawei Center has released more detailed information about the new distributed technology that will be released with EMUI 11. The technology will include new smart functions and connectivity with applications. These functions will also form part of Huawei’s “full scene” experience.
Huawei Distributed technology will allow users to make high-definition video calls between several devices running ROM. The users can also make video and audio calls anywhere, anytime. If there is an incoming call, the user can choose to use the smart speaker to answer it. If it is a video call, they can answer via TV, on-board equipment, and even send real-time video from the drone, so that friends and family can also enjoy the beautiful scenery.
The pointed purpose of this Huawei technology is to utilize the full hardware function. These include the camera, microphone, display screen, and device speaker. Huawei Users will be able to make full use of these functions in different devices and usage scenarios.
Based on Android 11, Not HarmonyOS
The report also pointed out that EMUI 11 will actually be based on Android 11. The company will not bring HarmonyOS to smartphones this year because it is vigorously developing its Huawei mobile service ecosystem. Of course, we expect that the new software will introduce some HarmonyOS features in smartphones. We expect to see Huawei’s major display of EMUI 11 at the 2020 Huawei Developer Conference. The event will be held next month or late September. We hope to see all the new Android looks and new updates to HarmonyOS.
