The Leaker, who has already told us Apple’s September and October launch dates, as well as currently scheduled order and sales dates, provides more information on events, pricing, and configurations for the four Apple iPhone 12 variants and possible changes in October Event.
Currently, the hyperactive host Komiya has posted several tweets over the past few days, which we want to report briefly here. As always with such leaks, a warning: how good the Commission’s contacts with Apple insiders really are will become clear only in the fall, while it is hardly possible to assess whether his information is correct or not, in any case, considerable skepticism is appropriate. especially since it has already relativized or fixed some of its old leaks as we’ll see.
Leak # 1 concerns the September launch event, which he says will take place on September 8 or will be streamed as an advance recording, similar to what we already experienced in the virtual performance at WWDC. The committee claims to have received the exact timetable for this event, which should look like this:
- Opening video
- Address by Tim Cook
- New product presentations
- Apple Services
- Apple Card starts in other countries
- New hardware
- New iPad 8
- Apple Watch Series 6
- iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max
- Apple AirTags
- iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max
- Apple Services
AirPowersaid to be dead and apparently resurrected, would be the “One more thing” of the September event. Let’s see if it stays that way.
iPhone 12 prices and configurations
The next topic is the pricing and bundling of the iPhone 12 quartet, which is clearly delayed this year and will likely hit the market in stages depending on the model. When it comes to pricing, the leak community currently disagrees. Leader John Prosser surprised a few months ago by announcing that the new 5.4-inch iPhone 12, in particular, should be cheaper than the current iPhone 11 (Amazon now starts at 740 euros).
Later, one analyst opposed this and pointed to higher prices than the previous year, that is, not $ 649, but $ 749 starting price. The committee now indirectly confirms this in a leaked tweet update from the end of July. He suspects that Apple will remove entry-level configurations from 64GB, while the 2020 iPhone 12 lineup will start at a minimum of 128GB and look like this:
- iPhone 12 5G 5.4 inches
- 128 GB $ 749
- 256 GB $ 849
- iPhone 12 Max 5G 6.1 inches
- 128 GB $ 849
- 256 GB $ 949
- iPhone 12 Pro 5G 6.1 inches
- 128 GB $ 1,049
- 256 GB $ 1,149
- 512 GB $ 1,349
- iPhone 12 Pro Max 5G 6.7 inches
- 128 GB $ 1,149
- 256 GB $ 1,249
- 512 GB $ 1,449
iPhone 12 and 12 Max 64GB are likely to have gone https://t.co/UtO4QSIQag

Maybe not an October event after all?
It is doubtful that Apple will really do without the cheaper 64GB models, at least it would have made it possible to at least maintain the price level of last year. It would be even more surprising if Apple scrapped the October event to celebrate the first Apple Silicon Mac. The speaker’s last tweet indicates relevant events, which, however, should be based on a “new source” statement. We believe that updating the website with a simple press release like the recently released latest Intel iMac is unlikely. Apple won’t miss celebrating the first ARM-MacBook and discussing the benefits. So at the moment, Apple fans have only hope that the new source is wrong.
